Product Care & Safety
Candle Care & Safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Keep away from children, pets and flammable surfaces and avoid burning in draughts
- Upon first burn, burn your candle for 3-4 hours until a full melt pool is reached. This is to prevent tunnelling (this is where the wax remains at the sides of the candle but continues to burn through the centre) Tunnelling can re-create the memory of the wax, meaning it could be very hard for the candle to reach a full melt pool
- Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time. With ALL candles there is a risk of the glass overheating and exploding
- Never move a lit candle. Ensure it is fully extinguished, the wax is solid, and the jar is cold before moving
- Always keep the wick trimmed to 5mm to avoid a carbon build up. This helps to keep your candle safe but also helps to extend the life of your candle
- Do not use if the glass container is cracked, chipped or broken.
- Make sure the candle is placed on a stable, heat resistant surface
- Extinguish your candle carefully, using a candle snuffer, allowing it to cool completely before touching or moving
- Allow the candle to completely cool and harden before trimming wick(s) or re-lighting. Ensure you remove any foreign objects from the surface of the candle before lighting. This includes the debris from trimming your wick
When your candle comes to the end of its life, there should be 1cm of wax left at the bottom of the candle. We encourage customers to reuse their containers, simply wash with warm soapy water to get rid of any excess wax and remove the wick holder. You can then use it as a storage jar, a plant pot, pencil holder or somewhere to store your matches
Wax Melt Care & Safety
Using your wax burner
- Remove all packaging before use
- Only use with an unscented tea light
- Keep out of reach away from children, pets and draughts
- Keep foreign objects out of the wax pool
- Do not touch or move the wax burner whilst the tea light is still lit or the wax remains liquid.
- We recommend to only use a 4 hour tea light with your burner.
Using your wax melts
Wax melts should only be used within an appropriate wax melt burner. This may either be a tea light wax burner or an electric wax burner. Do not use wax melts in an oil burner.
Add one cube of the wax from the clamshell to the well of your wax burner. Do not overfill as the wax could over spill.
To remove used wax from your burner, you can either use a few cotton pads while the wax is still molten to soak up the wax and then wipe away any excess wax with a tissue, but be careful because the wax will still be hot. Or if the wax has hardened you can light a tea light underneath for at least 30 seconds and apply a little pressure to the wax and it should slide out. Do not use any metal or sharp objects to clean out the wax as this may damage or crack the burner or cause injury.
